Managing Director of Healthcare agency The People’s Choice – Sussex, Micheala Puddick explains why Newhaven Enterprise Centre provides a safe a secure workspace for her growing business.

In 2015 Michaela set up The People’s Choice, utilising her 40+ years in the care industry to provide a service that would be centred around client needs and quality of care. Offering services such as domiciliary care, training, personal heath care budgets and PPE supply, The People’s Choice has become an all-round service for those in need of support.

The aim of the business is to provide service of the highest quality, creating support packages designed to meet each individual’s needs. It promotes both independence and quality of life while protecting the individuals rights and choices. With qualified trainers on hand, and an in house training room, support staff are all highly trained on the latest regulations and guidance.

As a new string to the company’s bow, The People’s Choice – Sussex can also help with setting a personal health budget. A personal health budget allows you to manage your healthcare and support such as treatments, equipment and personal care, in a way that suits you. It works in a similar way to personal budgets, which allow people to manage and pay for their social care needs.

When creating her business, Michaela needed a space that would align with her business ethos, and would be flexible to her business needs. A friend introduced her to Newhaven Enterprise Centre, and since then she has never looked back!

Being based at Newhaven Enterprise Centre has given Michaela the freedom to look towards the future and expand her horizons. Already starting a 2nd venture from the Centre named ‘Michaela’s Marketplace’, she is helping the local community to sell their unwanted goods to boost their income, continuing to utilise her skills to help people from all around the local area.

Michaela is a true example of a community hero, Even her long term personal goal showcases her caring nature, as she thinks ahead to a time when she can take a step back from the day to day running of the business to fulfil another dream of setting up an animal rescue centre in Europe, a dream we have no doubt she will endeavour to achieve.
